how to put on a bauerfeind malleoloc ankle brace

How to put on the Bauerfeind MalleoLoc Ankle Brace.

I've taken these photos of my ankle wearing the Bauerfeind MalleoLoc Ankle Brace. I could not fit such large photos in the actual review.

It does take some practice to get the straps right and I have to tell you, I tried wearing this barefooted with a sock OVER it but did not love that. I find it more comfortable with the sock underneath like I have pictured here.

When you take it out of the package, it is a bit overwhelming. But the heel part is already set and you can adjust it. you have to undo all the fasteners and put your foot in. Think Figure 8.

The following are just lots of photos I took so you could see it from other angles.

You sort of have to walk in it a bit to get it right and get a feel for it. Then it starts to mold to your foot and ankle better.

The most important thing to remember is to be patient and then not to make it too tight. I can wear this in running shoes and with open back clogs.

Obviously, I won't be wearing this with "knock me down and admire me pumps". Preliminary runs with it so far have been successful.

Side, back, front views. It looks complicated but once you put your foot in it the right way, you'll see how it works. It's easier to figure out than a new cell phone.

I was reading earlier that if you want to keep your ankle from being sprained in the future all you have to do are a few simple things. For starters if your ankle is injured already let it heal. When that has healed you need to ween yourself off of the brace while excersising. That's basically it.

# review? 2010-10-25 13:05
This isn't much of a review, though perhaps that's because you didn't have much experience with it yet, it being new and all. So, I'm curious how you feel about it now, presumably having used it quite a bit in the last few months. Have you tried other braces you can compare it to? During what activities have you used it? How has it held up, durability wise? Are there any specific activities you would or would not recommend it for?

Thanks much

# Review is elsewhere on the siteannemoss 2010-11-11 18:09
There is an actual review of this product posted by a foot doctor who treats athletes on a regular basis. Link is above. What he likes about this brace is the anatomical fit. Although I feel it works best if you can have it molded to fit your foot. I wore it running after an ankle injury and compared it to the ASO.
