See the PPM Review here.

The PGA will be endorsing the PPM mouthpiece, and Makkar expects to have this deal completed by  August, 2010. This deal was to have been completed in May of 2010, however, there was a glitch which is now working in their favor.

They rejected the PPM, because the USGA, has determined that PPM would be a direct advantage to golfers who use this product on the PGA tour. How about that for validity!

The PPM had to be approved by the USGA, a body which allows devices to be approved, as long as it is not a direct advantage to PGA players on the tour, according to their ruling sec, 14.3.  The USGA has made an exception to the PPM, that in order for a golfer to use it on the PGA tour, that they will need a written diagnosis from a dentist that the golfer has TMJ issues. This is a huge milestone for Makkar. Now a golfer that wants to use it on the tour has to see a dentist first for a diagnosis. So now  because of this exception , the PGA will now endorse the PPM.

The PGA has approved the PPM for use as a device for TMJ

The PPM Ohio State University study is well on it’s way

It is a series of movements , which observes balance, flexibility and range of motion. If the PPM shows significant data throughout this process, there is a possibility that PPM could be mandatory for a lot of athletes while taking these tests.

The New Orleans Saints made history as they captured the Super Bowl title and many of their stars are PPM devotees

The researchers are just now in the process of retrieving all the data. This will be a historical study in which they took 50 division 1 Athletes, and put them through FMS ( Functional Mobility Screening). The FMS is used by most professional and university teams to determine if an athlete is prone to injury or not.

The Saints achieved a milestone when they captured the NFC title, a first in their franchise’s history, only to journey to the greatest showdown of their careers and end it with the most spectacular triumph. Tracy Porter, a PPM devotee, intercepted a pass thrown by Colt’s quarterback Peyton Manning, a defining moment leading to the Saints stunning victory.

The PPM was in the mouths of a number of team members as they experienced their best season and clinched the greatest victory that created a new chapter in the franchise’s history.

Excuse my ignorance, but why do PGA folks need mouthguards? Is there something I'm missing?

It is a sport where they don't usually use mouthguards. But this mouthguard actually helps with performance, accuracy, balance and power bursts. We'll be publishing a review this week. It has taken about 6 weeks of research.
