McDavid HexPad Protective Gear

McDavid Hexpad® Technology is a patented padding system that permanently bonds dozens of individual athletic pads into fabrics.

Because the pads are individually applied, they move with and conform to the body for continuous protection that isn't bulky or restricting like other pads on the market. HEX stands for hexagon shape.

The idea behind them is to be able to play contact sports without being handicapped the next day with pain and bruises. Basically, McDavid HexPad Technology is protection that moves and with your body to enhance performance.

They have lightweight to heavy-duty protection but the heavy duty is still less "heavy" than traditional pads used in, say, football. It also allows older athletes to still enjoy contact sports and these can be concealed under normal clothing. They can be discreetly worn under clothing.

There are also sliding shorts for soccer or baseball and HexPad undergarments for skiing (I might need these!), snowboarding.

Hexpad® is are machine washable undergarments with the protection attached. So compression and the pads are combined. This is the advent of a new generation of apparel.

According to McDavid, the manufacturer, Hexpad® Technology allows the replacement of your existing undershirts, pants and pads with true performance products. They are compression shorts, compression shirts with pads for both men and women.

They have been used in some of the most rugged sports like professional football and rugby and wear well through at least one full season. They may be machine washed and dried.
