KT Tape introduces a new precut edema tape. Medical professionals use these fan patterns to treat patients with swelling and internal bleeding. It is particularly effective for reducing swelling of injuries such as a sprained ankle.

Cutting several strips is not impossible, of course, but pre cut has proven easier for clinicians particularly including family physicians, Physical Therapists, personal trainers, ATCs, Orthopedic physicians, surgeons, PAs, Chiropractors and other medical professionals who offer KT Taping (called strapping in clinical terms) in their practice.

How to apply edema KT Tape

Anchors for edema tapings should start proximally over lymph node beds to direct drainage to core rather than away from it.

KT Tape and Kinesiology Tape Contraindications

• Skin irritation in small percentage. Sometimes a topical Benadryl works fine.
• Do not apply on cancer patients in treatment. You do not want to inspire movement of lymphatic fluids.
• Do not tape the abdomen of pregnant women
• Avoid applying the tape to the Scalene triangle area (neck). It is basically the side of the neck where the carotid artery is.
• Back of Knee
• Ulnar or inside elbow
• If you or a patient experiences tingling in the form of a prickly feeling, gently remove the tape
