Sometimes you don't know what distal foot is or anterior pain. You just know that if you point to an area of your foot that hurts, you'd like to know in general what it might be prior to visiting a doctor. Because the truth is, you can't always get in that day or the next. If you have some idea, you can often ice the right area or avoid doing something that could potentially make it worse.

We found this great diagram for isolating pain of certain regions of the foot or ankle and a list of what it could be. This should not replace a trip to the doctor and is for your information only.
