For those with high arches, Powerstep Pinnacle Orthotics work quite well for relieving heel pain related to plantar fasciitis. Often referred to as heel spurs or fallen arches, these supports are far more effective than heel cushions or heel cradles.
By the way, heel spurs are an altogether different malady. Basically, heel spurs are something you can see on an x-ray and it’s a hook of bone that can form on the heel bone. And these arch supports can actually help those as well although it often takes 1-3 months.
The heel cushions merely treat the symptom and not the cause
Powerstep Pinnacle Arch Supports |
Powerstep Pinnacle orthotic inserts treats the issue of plantar fasciitis which is a tight arch muscle or even knee pain caused by poor foot biomechanics. These inserts focus on that part of the foot, the arch, which in turn relieves the heel pain. Pinnacle is a unique podiatric support system, was designed by Dr. Les Appel from computer scans of thousands of feet.
Powerstep Pinnacle are soft arch supports
These work well for those who can’t tolerate the custom orthotics or the hardness of the Dr. Scholl’s Adjustable Pain Relief Orthotics we reviewed on sportsmedinfo.net earlier. This is not to say the custom orthotics are not worthwhile. They are a Godsend to a number of people. But one thing doesn’t work for everyone.
Powerstep Pinnacle provides a blend of foot control, springyness, and cushioning for those who are are looking for greater comfort than other products on the market. These eliminate the excessive inward rolling motion of the foot and pronations, which virtually eliminates pain or strain in your heel and arch, and even your ankles, knees, and lower back. The inner foam named Hypurcel maintains its density and cushioning properties and a soft EVA outer foam.
The insole arch supports for sweaty feet
Pinnacles are anti-bacterial and anti-fungal to combat foot odor and help keep feet drier. So if you have sweaty feet, this might be the choice for you.

How do they fit in shoes?
The Dr. Scholl’s Adjustable Pain Relief Orthotics are ¾ length which makes them manageable in a lot of different shoes. But these do fit well in a lot of shoes without having to modify them most of the time.
If you wear an 8 in men’s, you might want to order down to the 7-7.5 size. Same with the women. You can actually try them in shoes with the insoles they came with and without the insoles. I know some thing that defeats the purpose of expensive running shoes but it works better for some. And you just have to evaluate what works for you. You can always put the insoles back in your shoe.
