The rotator cuff tendon is between the shoulder bones. As the tendon becomes inflamed, it can get pinched. The sac of fluid that cushions that tendon can have a tear or strain. Both problems create rotator cuff pain.

Symptoms include not being able to lift your arm very high. Simple tasks such as putting on a bra or lifting a racquet can cause considerable pain.

Swimming, baseball, volleyball, racquet sports, and throwing sports all have high incidents of rotator cuff problems as does age. Typically, it just gives out. In younger athletes, a labral tear can present similar symptoms as a rotator cuff injury. Inflammation can be managed with icing and resting the shoulder.

If the tendon is torn or becomes unattached, surgery is required. A rotator cuff tear can be treated arthroscopically. Two surgeons who submit articles here do the majority of rotator cuff tear surgeries arthroscopically.

KT Tape helps manage rotator cuff pain by providing support and stability to the shoulder and rotator tendon. It can alleviate impingement and aid in body mechanics. Further KT Tape aids recovery by increasing circulation around the area of the injury.
