Benefits of Pain Meds/Supplements

Works for:
Electrolyte replacement for runners, bikers, triathletes, soccer players and all atletes or anyone active for 60-90 minutes or more.

Product Resources

The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that people and athletes who are actively exercising for over one hour get 500–700mg of sodium for every liter of water they consume.

This is up to 3x the sodium amount that most sports drinks, which are high in calories and sugar.

NUUN tablets are a high absorbing electrolyte so you can more easily combat hyponatremia, a condition that is often mistaken as dehydration but is often a lack of salt that is sweated out during exercise and not replaced. Nuun provides 700mg of sodium for every liter of drink to ensure that you are adequately replenished.

NUUN tablets make an electrolyte drink with no sugar, only 3 calories and no carbohydrates

The following is the nutritional information for a serving of Nuun based on one tablet dissolved in 16oz (500ml) of water. There are under 8 calories per Nuun tab.

Active Ingredients

level (mg)

Sodium (carbonates)

Calcium (carbonate)

Magnesium (sulfate)

Other Ingredients: citric acid, sorbitol, sodium carbonate, natural colors flavors, sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, polyethylene glycol, magnesium sulfate, sodium benzoate, calcium carbonate, acesulfame potassium, riboflavin-5-phosphate. **Lemon Tea and Kona Cola each contain 20mg of caffeine per 8 oz. serving (40mg per tablet). That's about a third of the caffeine found in your average cup of drip coffee.**

Nor is there any high fructose corn syrup. Even the very favorable Coconut water can have 12-18 grams of sugar. That’s not much compared with the sports drinks but a consideration for many. The no sugar makes these tablets ideal for athletes watching their weight and consumption as well as for those who have to watch sugar intake such as diabetics. NUUN Active Hydration Tablets contain electrolytes, vitamins and minerals and successfully ensures that athletes stay properly hydrated.

We liked the fact that you won’t replace the very calories you burn in one single “sports drink” which for some can defeat the purpose of exercise in the first place. There are no unnecessary additives unrelated to hydration with the exception of some light flavor. Athletes commented that they do not leave a residue in your water bottle.

NUUN Tablets are more portable—especially for athletes who travel

Tablets are stored in 4 x 1.25 in. plastic tubes that easily fit into a backpack or jacket pocket. That means you can stash them in a workout bag or a suitcase and add virtually no weight.

Subtle flavor and some of the flavors more popular than others

Do understand that this is a light flavor and tastes like flavored water. Citrus fruit, Orange and Tri Berry are the most popular flavors. Most love or hate the lemon lime and we simply did not get any feedback regarding the other flavors. Of course, this is subjective and these are sold in variety packs so you can mix it up and see which one you like best. You don't really taste the salts in these despite the lack of sugar.

Serving size and suggested intake of NUUN Tablets

Each tube has 12 servings. NUUN Tablets are often sold in four tubes per pack or 8 tubes per pack. You add one tablet to 16 ounces of water whether it’s your regular water bottle or a purchased bottle of water. You can add it to water that is cold, with ice or just room temperature.

Each16 oz. contains only 3 calories per serving along with 360 mg. sodium, 100 mg potassium, 24 mg magnesium, plus vitamin C, calcium and riboflavin (no sugar, no protein) Flavors include Fruit punch, Grape, orange, strawberry lemonade, tropical, lemon tea, grape. NUUN cola is a newer flavor and does contain caffeine.

Electrolyte tablets with no sugar!

I love these tablets because they don't have a bunch of gratuitous ingredients I don't need. I am tired of plain pedialyte, too. I can't have sugar and these don't have any. You do have to have water to plot them in but I find them easier and more compact to carry with me. They taste fine. I can't say I use them for the taste but it is definitely not offensive. And they work. I also like the coconut water but these are just easier to carry.

marathon runner loves nuun - prevents hyponatremia

I love these tablets. Easy to pack on a trip as I will go out of town to run a marathon about 3 times per year. Hyponatremia is an issue for me even in the fall. So I always take these. The lemon lime is yukky. Orange and triberry are good!

For too much run or too much beer

These are a staple in my athletic pack. I always use them prior to a long race to prevent hyponatremia. I had that once and never want to experience tht agan. I hate to admit it but if I have too much beer to drink i take one of these to hydrate my body so i don't feel so bad the next day. this works
