Shoes for Heavier Runners

Guys over 155 are considered heavy runners. And ladies who are over that limit like to run, too. This shoe was specifically made for heavier runners although it's suitable for those who weigh under 155 as well.

Men's Gel Kayano

Not every one who runs is 155 or less. So there are shoes for the rest of us.

The story is that the army wanted to order running shoes and was unable to find anything appropriate that would last for soldiers over 155. So the Gel Kayano was born. While Gel Kayanos are known to suit heavy runners, they are also suitable for people with other running issues such as:

  • Suitable for those who are more prone to shin splints
  • Known for stability, support and comfort
  • Little or no foot fatigue on long distance runs
  • Great for weak ankles (often typical for those with high arches)
  • Those who suffer from shin splints swear by these

Gel Kayano: Best Shoes for those who suffer from Shin Splints and Achilles Pain

Gel Kayano is known among runners for being the best at helping help or prevent shin splints and Achilles problems, particularly if you are prone to them. Gel Kayano 12-14 come highly recommended. Reviwews for Gel Kayano 15 are mixed and not as positive.

My Favorite Running Shoes- Great for my high arch

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
I've never had better running shoes than these. Because of the way the arch conforms to yours, it adjusts. As a result of the arch support, my ankles and shins don't hurt. It took me a long time to figure that out--that the arches were related to my ankle pain and subsequent shin pain. Biomechanically-friendly.

I was sure I had shin splints but that was not the case. They are expensive. But worth it considering what I save in doctor bills. These suit my Himalayan arches like they were made for my foot. I am a female under 155, I wear an 8.5 in most women's shoes and a 9.5 in these which is my typical running shoe size. I wear a normal width and they fit fine over my ASO ankle brace.

Big Fella likes to run

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
I'm a big guy. I'm 6'5" and 275. So you can bet I go through running shoes and even treadmills. Not even the treadmills at the gym can handle my running on them. So I do have to run outside and while I'm not a speed demon I do like to try and stay in shape. These are the best shoes so far and since I have switched to these i have not had shin splints. But I also do some exercises my athletic trainer told me to do as well.

Great shoe and great brand

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
Asics gel shoes as a brand are fantastic, but I really love this model because it fits so well and can take a beating. I've seen a lot of fellow runners use this model and never heard a complaint. Although I like to have a bunch of running shoes, I highly recommend these.
