While pricey, is an excellent stabilizing ankle brace designed for lightweight stability to prevent ankle rollover. The contoured design maximizes comfort while providing protection against a serious ankle injury. It's made from a moldable plastic which can be heated to make minor fitting adjustments.

A combination of foam padding on the inside of the Malleoloc along with an open, low profile design, allow for increased comfort and heat transfer unlike typical lace-up designs. It features a semi-rigid design and provides a combination of support with a little give for enhanced comfort.

This model will fit inside almost any athletic or dress shoe without difficulty.

The Bauerfeind Malleoloc is ideal for patients suffering from posterior tibialis tendonitis, chronic ankle sprains, and people involved in sports.

Bauerfeind MalleoLoc Ankle Brace benefits from the perspective of a foot doctor

talus

The Bauerfiend Malleoloc brace is anatomically contoured and lies flat against the side of the ankle joint preventing forward motion of the talus and therefore protecting relevant capsule ligaments.

Unlike other ankle braces, the Malleoloc Brace does not press against the malleoli and is more comfortable as a result.

The anterior velcro straps are properly placed to follow the course of the anterior talofibular ligament (the most frequently injured ligament in the ankle) and limits load of this ligament by preventing inversion/eversion of the ankle.

malleoli

The Bauerfiend Malleoloc fits nicely in most shoes due to its low profile design. The quality of this product is superior.

Not so easy to get adjusted right out of the box, I have found that my ankle pain and plantar fasciitis don't flare up. I can wear this with open back clogs and athletic shoes.

And what if you are stumped whether you should get this or the ASO? If your coach says ASO, get ASO. If you have a tendency for plantar fasciitis in addition to ankle issues, I'd say get this one. Both are excellent stabilizers.
