Icing System Features/Benefits

Good For: Reduces Pain • Reduces Swelling

Product Resources

This ice pack is a favorite of pitchers who want to ice their pitching arm. You put it on like you’d put on the sleeve of a shirt. Pitchers who ice their arm often avoid the soreness that comes from repetitive throwing. It can also be used to ice shoulder injuries to provide pain relief.

Buy the Elasto Gel Shoulder Ice and Hot Pack from Amazon.

Baseball pitchers should also evaluate this ice wrap for the arm.

More Convenient

Many do not like the shoulder icing packs that require putting ice packs in various pockets on the brace. The advantage of this is that you can put the whole thing in the freezer and get it out when you need it.

Or you can keep it in a cabinet and warm either in the microwave or conventional oven. The gel is soft and not hard like ice and gel tends to conform well to body parts while ice tends not have the same contact.

These gel packs reduce soreness for pitching arm but also can be used following rotator cuff or labral tear surgery, shoulder separations, pulls strains and any number of shoulder ailments needing ice therapy to reduce pain and inflammation. It can be used before or after shoulder surgery although for longer cold therapy, most surgeons will recommend the polar care cuff for the shoulder or the Cryo/Cuff. At least at first.

This one conforms well to the shoulder and arm due to the gel and it's more convenient than wraps that require you to slip in multiple ice packs which tend to get lost.

Pitchers use this to prevent injury and soreness. Still others use it to alleviate pain from a shoulder injury or surgery. While it doesn't fit women or youths very well, it is very effective for adolescent baseball pitchers. It's also more convenient for adult males who have injured their shoulder providing form fitting relief.

The straps adjust which is handy. It's not going to fit everyone's shoulder perfectly, but it's about as good as it gets. It's unfortunate they do not have a youth size.

The other popular one is elite kold and people who preferred that one say they like it because it's more adjustable, stays cold longer and covers the whole arm.

used this after shoulder surgery when I had to give the iceman back to the doctor. My shoulder would just feel a bit cranky for a while. Playing racquetball again.

It doesn't stay as cold as the iceman but it is fine. I only need it for 20-30 minutes. My son is a pitcher and prefers the elite kold brand because it covers his whole arm and his shoulders are too small for this one and that one comes in a youth size.
