Asics Gel Cumulus 12 Review

Product Resources

The Cumulus 12 is a neutral shoe made by Asics. Neutral shoes suit those with mild overpronation for those with a neutral gait. If you overpronate severely, you need a stability shoe.

The absolute in cushioning. Asics Cumulus is lightweight and soft.

This shoe is the ultimate in soft cushion, like running on pillows. They are also comparable to the Nimbus but far less expensive. This is one of Asics top sellers in the neutral category. For those with certain biomechanics, it can help prevent knee problems and shin splints. Many runners will tell you that their problems in this area disappear once they have started wearing these. It is a shoe with many loyal followers over the course of years.

They go in marathons and for short runs and overall are very versatile shoes.

Some of the differences over the Gel Cumulus 11 Reviewed Earlier

Softer than ever for high performance, cushioned excellence. Of all the Asics brand, these have the softest road feel and they've lost weight! By a half ounce making them glide through runs. These feature a wide open toebox, heel area cushioned collar lined, plush ride at a great price point.

These also feature gender specific cushioning - an injected mid sole cap placed directly under the ball of the foot is featured on both men's and women's models-- however the women's asics gel cumulus 11 are a softer density, addressing the difference in compression rate. Heel fit is also a plus in this model cutting down on blisters.

From the perspective of biomechanics, these work.

These have good arch support and for those with a neutral gait, it can help prevent shin splints and knee problems. Not so great with overpronation, though. Try Gel Kayano 16 or Gel Kayano 17 if you have overpronation as you might need a stability shoe as opposed to a neutral shoe.

An improvement over Asics Gel Cumulus 10

The softest neutral shoe. Asics Gel Cumulus 12

This are like pillows. If you have a neutral gait, this is a great shoe. Compare it to the Nimubs, also a great shoe but this one is far less expensive. So if it works for you, you save money. They prevent blisters but if you have a tendency for those due to ultra sweaty feet, try body glide for your feet.
